An international vacation may not have been in your budget this year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t explore new cultures. To make your family meal time exciting and educational, lead your family on a trip around the world – with food!
Start off with a trip to Greece and the Mediterranean, then journey to Germany, China and the tropics where you can experience new cultures through food and ‘stamp’ your culinary passport.
Enjoy a Grecian family meal of Grilled Lamb Asparagus Pitas, Cucumber and Tomato Tangy Yogurt Salad and Greek Yogurt Cheesecake with Ouzo Poached Figs. Continue your culinary travels all week long with Mediterranean Yogurt Chicken with Blackened Onions, Bierocks (German Meat Turnovers), Beef with Broccoli and Tropical Mango Mousse.
Be sure to follow @MealsMatter on Twitter and register at MealsMatter.org to add these and other recipes to a personalized family meal plan and shopping list.
“Family Meals Matter” features recipes selected by registered dietitians from the thousands of user-contributed recipes available at the free family nutrition and meal-planning website, Meals Matter, operated by registered dietitians and moms with Dairy Council of California.
