We’ve talked a lot about all the benefits that family meals can have for children. From better grades to improved health, nutrition and social skills, family meals help children succeed in school and life. But let’s not forget one more benefit – the fun factor!
For whatever reason, young children seem to love eating foods they can hold in their hands. Whether it is the ease of being able to grab, eat and go, or the chance to experience food in a more direct and tactile way, kids just love to help make and eat finger food. This week, grab some simple pleasures by serving up finger foods for the whole family.
Start with a family meal of Crispy Asparagus Straws, Silly Spaghetti Casserole and Pink Strawberry Smoothies. Work finger foods into the menu all week long with Chicken Crunchers, Cheese and Fruit Kabobs, Granola Bars and Super Grilled Veggie Wraps.
