Ingredients

1 California avocado
1/4 c Frozen peas, thawed
1 tbsp Lime juice
1 Med tomato, quartered
1/4 c Chopped onion
1 tsp Minced garlic
1-2 tbsp Fresh cilantro leaves
1 Sm jalapeno pepper seeded
1/2 tsp Ground cumin

Preparation

1. Cut the avocado in half lengthwise around the seed. Scoop the flesh into a bowl.

2. Add the peas, lime juice, tomato, onion, garlic, cilantro, chile pepper, and cumin. Add salt and pepper to taste.

3. Place the mixture in a food processor or blender, and pulse to the desired consistency.

Makes about 1 1/2 cups.

Avocados are extremely good for you. In fact, we should all be eating one a day! Don't worry about over-eating guacamole. What you should be more worried about is all the chips or bread you're eating with this!!

I tried the recipe tonight with friends. Great! I added a bit of hot sauce, but the flavor was wonderful! I liked the peas! Even though the avocado fats are "good", you can have too much of a good thing!

I think the peas were to reduce the calories not the fats

Actually an avacado has good fats and doesn't need to be disguised by mashed peas.
