I finally got my kids to eat real fish!

Ingredients

i can Mackerel or salmon

Flour or crushed saltine

1 Egg

1 tbsp Baking soda

Salt/pepper

1-2 tsp Garlic powder

Serve with cocktail sauce, mustard, or tartar sauce

Preparation

Drain juice off can of fish into a bowl and stir baking soda into it. Sit aside for later, make sure it has room to grow without overflowing the bowel.

mix seasonings, egg and fish in a mixing bowel. No need to remove bones (great source of calcium). Add 1/4 cup of flour or crushed saltines and juice/baking soda mixture. Adjust flour as needed to get slightly moist mixture that holds together into meat patties.

Cook patties over medium heat on griddle or nonstick skillet. Exterior should get slightyly crispy with center soft. For the kids I make nugget sized ones!

Cook's Notes

Kids love to help make the patties, they get to get their hands sticky and gross!!
