My son is 4 and has food allergies. What can I pack him for lunch? He has allergies to peanut butter (severe) and corn. Thanks!
Answer
4 year-olds like to eat finger foods and foods that are easy to eat. Meals Matter has some great kid-friendly recipes. Here are some snack and lunch ideas the whole family will enjoy:
- Hummus and raw vegetables (carrots, jicama, bell peppers)
- Chicken vegetable or beef barley soup sent in a thermos. Try our Kids Soup recipe; however, eliminate the vegetable and items your son is allergic to.
- Rice with sliced chicken or steak on top sent in an airtight container
- Try salad on a stick. Alternate cubes of cheese, chicken, bell peppers, carrots and cucumbers on a bamboo skewer.
Hope these ideas will help.
